Monte Capanno 2004: Another letter from a friendWebmasters' introduction: In September 2007, Lisa Aiello of Toronto, Canada wrote to us with the news that the current Count of Monte Capanno, La Contessa's son, Bepi (Guiseppe) had been in an accident, but is recovering. She sent the pictures and letter below, which were taken during her 2007 trip to Perugia. (Click on a picture to see a larger version):
Dear Gordon & Linda -
I couldn't help but to pass this along for the website. I went back to Perugia in August for three glorious weeks and I enjoyed seeing friends again. I wanted to relay that Bepi and Giulio have had an unfortunate serious car accident and has left him in a collar and bruised. Someone was driving and she pressed the pedal to go forward rather than backwards and the car went over a cliff and rolled six times. I say that he is like a cat that has 9 lives and gladly so. Presently he is recovering and as he would put it, he is "slowly and distinctly" coming along. He has a nurse and his friends are all around him. Once that "Count" thing has worn off, you see the more softer and human side of him and he craves the simple pleasures of having his freedom to be able to walk and drive about again. Is there any way of perhaps dedicating a section on the website for well wishes by anyone whom would like to? I believe this would warm his heart and you know "every little bit" helps.I have attached some photos of Bepi along with a priest whom had a sermon at my church in Toronto whom happened to be residing at the convent in Colombella (very close to where Bepi is staying). I brought him along with me and he blessed him which brought tears to his eyes. I also have attached a photo of him with one of sincere, long-time friends, Mary Schnelling (and don't read too much into this now).Your friend -Lisa Aiello
